Thank you for your interest in Tribal Sounds and my work. I’ve designed this website to give you a glimpse into my world. Music, poetry, photography, design, and unapologetic creativity paint the walls here and the house was built for you.

  • I’ve had the fortune of living my life surrounded by music, art, and storytelling. I grew up in The Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina where you can drink from the mountain to heal your soul, the scent of honeysuckle and wisping watercolors of hummingbirds paint the spring air. My grandfathers played acoustic guitar and my dad led a gospel trio comprised of he, my sister, and mother. I was raised in religion with a grandmother who taught me about creation while I marveled regularly at the stories, experiences, and teachings.

  • My family moved from the reservation and I began playing guitar and writing songs at 13. I was a Native American kid in a very country school. A loner; obsessed with music, words, and art. I had spikey hair on top with a french braid in the back kinda cool. I spent most every waking hour with my guitar, pen, and notepad nearby to call upon whenever inspiration struck. I learned guitar by ear first, but quickly began self education of production, song structure, technique, and theory.

  • By 16, I had already performed at various parties, bars, and coffeeshops performing mostly original music. I started recording on a dusty old yamaha 4-track and continued to fall even more in love with music. Talent shows, art class, drama, and the amazing oddities I had the pleasure of calling my friends and family are what fueled me, compelled me, inspired me.

  • I attended Berklee College of Music in 2009 for Performance and Songwriting. Later that year, I would release my first independent and self funded record the “Let Her Down EP” which garnered local television, radio, and college attention.

  • In Charleston, South Carolina I began marketing myself and performing at bars, venues, events, and would go on small tours down the coastline as a solo indie artist. I performed in duos and trios dabbling in jazz, blues, reggae, americana, and more. In 2014, I recorded “God, Guns, and Firewater” a live studio EP. A whiskey drenched whispering of ghost stories and a loud evocation to my muses.

  • Working with consumers and businesses, I’ve trained sales representatives and led a team of sales professionals to meet and exceed goals and year over year numbers. I’ve coached sales, marketing techniques, and presented creative solutions to empower and motivate young entrepreneurs.

  • The artistic journey is a lifelong pursuit. I’ve helped artists develop branding strategies, release singles, record demos, develop portfolios, design presentations, curate EPKs, you name it.

I’ve worked in collaboration with small and medium sized businesses and organizations in development of social media strategy, project outlines, commercial advertisement development, branding, photography, layout, and design.

Along the way, I’ve developed some pretty amazing relationships with industry professionals, impeccable musicians, awe inspiring artists, business savvy suites, and humble beginnings.

I continue education and am in a constant pursuit of paper that says I know what I’m talking about, but ultimately that is for you to decide. I created Tribal Sounds to share my vision, heritage, and experience with others and help embolden their own.
